What exactly are concrete overlays, and what do they look like?
A concrete overlay covers existing concrete surfaces to repair or enhance the look of boring grey concrete. Our application varies greatly depending on the kind of texture and look that you require. At Bedrock we use various techniques to apply our concrete overlays.
Concrete overlays are applied at roughly an1/8th thick. Depending on how many layers we apply, every layer creates depth as do the coloring techniques. As already mentioned to create further effect when the overlay has been applied, we can further enhance the look through one or more of our coloration systems. This process allows us to deliver floors that have depth and texture. Colors range from pastel to vibrant hues, earthy tones and rustic looks, shimmers of colors such as gold or silver through to detailed stenciling and logo options.
Once sealed concrete overlays are durable and simple to clean. To further protect the surface we add a water based floor finish which will increase longevity of your floor and its color. A decorative concrete topping goes over existing concrete surface or even a sold structure such as tile to re-create a new floor.
